One of the great culinary dilemmas today is whether or not a burger should be seasoned. An increasing number of places are saying not, that the quality of the meat used means there is no need. We beg to differ, but then we would, as it is our mission to give pretty much anything the Spice Mountain touch! The seasoning in a burger is to our mind the most important part of the process, and here we share our idea of the Ultimate burger, bursting with flavour and moisture, with so much more than just the taste of mince going on. The crispy fried onions will bind the burger, and the Cajun seasoning will give it a spicy lift. Give this a try, and you will never buy supermarket burgers again – it’s so easy to do your own, so much fun, and once you have tasted them you will never look back!
- Yields:Â 8 Burgers
01.
Ingredients
1kg minced beef
2tsp salt
2tsp pepper
2 tablespoons Spice Mountain crispy fried onions
1 tablespoon dried parsley
4tsp Spice Mountain Cajun blend
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
2tsp Worcester sauce
02.
Method
- Simply combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and bring it all together.
- Once mixed stick the bowl in the fridge for an hour or two to let the flavours develop, before removing and shaping the burgers for cooking. We like our burgers best cooked on the barbie, but these will grill just as well.
- As there is plenty of flavour already in the burgers, all these need to finish them off is a good burger bun, a slice of mature cheddar to melt on the top and a final spludge of ketchup.
