Anardana is Indian for Pomegranate. The seeds are dried and crushed and the powder is traditionally used as a spice in Indian cuisine. Nowadays this spice features in many recipes and is much loved by the adventurous cook. Anardana have a slightly sweet and tangy flavour and are extremely flavoursome in slow cooked foods such as stews. Combines well with amchur, cumin, fresh coriander or mint. Similar in flavour to Sumac but sweeter and less tangy!
