Za’tar

About this product
Last in the spice alphabet, but among the first for flavour! This is a Middle Eastern blend of thyme, oregano, sesame, sumac & salt that is traditionally mixed with olive oil and eaten as a dip with bread. Za’tar is also wonderful as a seasoning for meats, fish (tuna steaks work particularly well with this), salad dressings or simply sprinkled over hummous before serving. The ancient Lebanese belief that Za’tar is good to awaken the mind and body makes it a good accompaniment to have at breakfast. You can sprinkle it on cream cheese or even try mixing it with natural yoghurt. The combination of flavours make it very versatile, so why not be creative?
