Their heat is on the warm side of medium, and the smoky flavour lingers on the back of the palate even after the heat fades. As well as in cooking, they can be used for a garnish sprinkled over cooked food, and when infused into olive oil they make a wonderful dressing for pizza or pasta. And as noted, they will take a tomato sauce to the next level.
