First of all, apologies for the lack of a newsletter over the past couple of months – I have just been so busy making Spice Mountain a better place to be! First, Spice Mountain moved to our new home, underneath the arches at Spa Road in Bermondsey, South London, just down the road from Borough Market. The move was essential as we had simply outgrown our existing base, and the perfect place became available. So we are taking the Great Leap Forward into the future and starting a new chapter in the Spice Mountain story. It is tremendously exciting, while at the same time a bit scary!
Also I again visited Australia to spend some time with friends and family, which allowed me to catch my breath and recharge the batteries. I returned full of energy and enthusiasm, and ready to make this Summer the spiciest ever! Despite the mostly rotten weather, I have been making sure there’s always been some sunshine in your kitchens.
This month’s main feature is on how you can use spices in drinks (a lot more can be done than simply a Bloody Mary), aiming to give you a few tips on how you can get some spice into your refreshments.
And our recipe choices for September are all quite light and quick to prepare, perfect for those last few evenings in the garden (assuming the weather allows!), or equally as a weekend lunch. Enjoy!
