About this product

An easy way to add the distinctive flavour of Ancho chilli to your cooking is this lovely paste, made by Especia Chillies in Mexico. It is free from artificial flavours and additives, consisting of 87% ancho chilli combined with onion, garlic and sunflower oil. Ancho is one of the most commonly used chillies in Mexican food, with a slightly smoky, fruity flavour and very little heat. When used with other, hotter chillies it provides balance, and due to its mildness, it can be used with many other dishes as well as Mexican – see how it will liven up a tomato sauce for pasta, or a BBQ sauce for ribs and chicken.
