Date syrup is a fruity, intensely sweet ingredient which is commonly used in Middle Eastern cuisine. The sweetness makes it very good for cakes, pastries and desserts, but it is also used in savoury dishes to an extent, particularly with chicken. Its best use to us is as a tasty sugar substitute, especially at breakfast time when it can be used on cereal, granola, muesli or yoghurt, in fact anywhere you might normally use honey. It can even be spread on toast! Our date syrup comes from the Lebanese artisan brand Mymoune, and is 100% concentrated dates with no added sugar.
