About this product

The bright orange/red goji berry (also known as the wolfberry) originates in China, and is considered to be one of the healthiest of fruits. It is consumed in its dry form, and has a distinctive sweet/sour flavour which works particularly well when the berries are added to cereal, granola and muesli to give your system a breakfast boost. They are also great for including in juices and smoothies, and delicious just added to natural yoghurt. Among the main benefits of goji is that it is very high in vitamins A and C, also in essential amino acids (containing all eight) and antioxidants. They are considered to give a real boost to the immune system, and contain complex carbohydrates, and finally for a fruit they have a very low calorie count. Interestingly, the main antioxidant in goji berries is zeaxanthin, which gives the berries their bright colour and performs the same trick in saffron and bell peppers.
