About this product

Gomashio is a condiment from Japan, consisting of toasted sesame seeds and salt. What makes our Gomashio that little bit different is that we use a combination of white and black sesame, blended with pure pink Himalayan salt for that touch of luxury!

Often homemade in Japan, the proportions of sesame and salt used can vary greatly, but our Gomashio is perfectly blended to bring the ideal balance of nutty sesame and pure salt.

Gomashio can be used as part of a macrobiotic diet, as a substitute for standard salt, and in Japan is often sprinkled onto steamed rice instead of soy sauce.

While most commonly used as a table condiment, gomashio can also be delicious when sprinkled on meats or fish before grilling, especially prawns, when it also becomes very aromatic.
