Pine Nuts

About this product
Pine nuts are enjoyed in so many countries they can now be called almost a global food. They have a distinctive sweet, nutty flavour which can be slightly addictive (to us at least!), and they are rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins making them quite a healthy option. They are used in savoury and sweet dishes, and their primary use is probably as the base for a proper pesto (many commercial pestos are based on cashew nuts, due to their cheaper price). They are also a very common ingredient in Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Mexican food, where they are used as a nutty garnish on baked, grilled and fried foods. Pine nuts are also commonly used on sweets such as baklava, and in breads. Spice Mountain’s pine nuts are sourced from China.
