A lovely new addition to our range of veg products, these red onion flakes are so delicious! We’ve been experimenting with them since they came in, and we’ve found them to be almost like the real thing. They have the sweet flavour of fresh red onion, but a bit deeper and more intense. They can be used in cooking as a replacement for fresh, added to your dish to give it colour and more depth, and are especially good when added to soups, stews and gravies. They are also useful for adding to your burger mix, where they will act as a binding agent as well as giving that extra flavour, and this is also true for meatballs, veggie burgers and rissoles, and mixed with some sage and breadcrumbs they make a brilliant stuffing for chicken. Another area they work well in is bread baking, for instance on foccacia or in ciabatta. Highly recommended!
