About this product
Often referred to as ‘poor man’s Saffron’, this bright yellow spice imparts a peppery, bitter flavour and is a main ingredient in many curries. It works well in dhal, pilafs and many meat or vegetable dishes. It is also used as a food colouring in mustard, pickles, chutneys (especially piccalilli) and much more. Turmeric has long been recognised as a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, and it is well known for its many medicinal properties – it is very important in the Ayurvedic diet, for example.
