About this product

This pungent and flavour-packed blend is of herbs which grow wild on the sun-kissed hillsides of Crete, and includes marjoram, basil and rosemary among others. It is perfect for recreating the flavour of those dishes you enjoyed on your Greek holiday, and indeed for any Mediterranean cooking from marinades to grills to stews. The taste of the blend is bolder and more powerful than in ‘regular’ mixed herbs, meaning that unless you are looking for a particularly strong flavour less is required in your dish. The blend is especially good when used on grilled lamb chops and it really comes into its own for traditional Greek dishes such as Kleftiko, Stifado and Moussaka. The most gorgeous Garlic Bread can be made by mixing wild herbs with butter and olive oil before spreading on a baguette and popping it into the oven, and it is equally good when part of the recipe for tzatziki, the yoghurt dip. Also of course it an be used just as an all-purpose seasoning, but in this case remember that a little goes a long way!
