Excellent for those who like to experiment and create something that’s unique and mouthwatering. Beautifully scented lavender flowers are great for adding a floral flavour to desserts eg. creme brulee, sweet biscuits, custards or in salads where it tastes and looks great. It can equally be used in savoury dishes, for example with meats like beef, lamb or even fish. If you’re experimenting with this delicate ingredient, start by using only a very small amount as dried lavender has a stronger potency than the fresh flowers. Using too much can ruin your dish. Lavender can also be used as a substitute for rosemary. Alternatively for a fragrant herb seasoning combine it with rosemary, thyme and sage.
